    On the Move

As if surrounded by a celestial halo, space shuttle Discovery made its way towards the expansive confines of NASA Kennedy Space Center's Vehicle Assembly Building following a move from its processing hangar on Sept. 9, 2010. A metal sling will be carefully connected to the spacecraft and then operators will hoist it from transfer aisle to the high reaches of the 52-story building before lowering it into place beside the external fuel tank and twin solid rocket boosters. Crews then will connect the spacecraft giving the stack its familiar launch day form. Discovery is targeted to liftoff on the 11-day STS-133 mission on Nov. 1 at 4:40 p.m. EDT. More Religious Bullshit

Posted by Skip Stone on February 20th, 2009

Ok, So here is the religious right doing the same thing they accuse others of doing. Clogging up our court system with frivolous lawsuits. The LA Times article ends with this line. “The suit names the Los Angeles Community College District, which operates nine campuses including L.A. City College; its board of trustees; Matteson; and various administrators. Lopez is asking for a jury trial.” A comment on the website The Raw Story which is an rss feed on this blog says it all. “If our species is ever going to advance, these nutcases who believe in a story that some Middle Eastern tribe wrote a couple of thousand years ago need to be eliminated. Sorry, I don’t believe in freedom of speech for the utterly ignorant. I don’t have to listen to everybody’s ideas when their ideas are utter bullshit. I don’t listen to the deep thoughts of a Downs syndrome adult, nor do I listen to the ideas of a religious fanatic. They make about the same amount of sense. Some day the rational mind will take over and we will be rid of these dangerous, hateful dipshits.”

More reason to revoke tax exempt status!

Posted by Skip Stone on September 30th, 2008

Jerry Falwell JrThey are still here. When is the government going to enforce the damn Constitution? Along with the other churches around the country this “College” should have it’s tax-free exemption removed it clearly is a religious school and therefore should not engage in candidates endorsements. Also known as political speech.

Why is fundamentalism dangerous?

Posted by Skip Stone on September 30th, 2008

Jesus in the garden Fundamentalism refers to a deep and totalistic commitment to a belief in, and strict adherence to a set of basic principles (often religious in nature), a reaction to perceived doctrinal compromises with modern social and political life.

The term is used to characterize religious advocates as clinging to a stubborn, entrenched position that defies reasoned argument or contradictory evidence. Fundamentalist beliefs depend on the twin doctrines that their god or gods articulated their will clearly to prophets, and that followers also have an accurate and reliable record of that revelation. Since a religion’s scripture is considered the word of its god or gods, fundamentalists believe that no person is right to change it or disagree with it.

Did you get that last part? No person has the right to disagree with it! This intolerance of dissension is just as toxic as the Nazi’s intolerance of non Aryans. In other words, Believe or go to the camps. Which by the way are in the bible belt of the country.

No longer Tax exempt!

Posted by Skip Stone on September 29th, 2008

Here we go. The church goers are finally showing their stripes. They are so confident that they are going to win this election that they are shitting on the constitution. Telling their sheep how to vote. I hope to their God that the IRS revokes their tax exempt status.

The Hear and Now.

Imagine there’s no Heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Religion prevents people from being in the present.

What is Religion?

Posted by Skip Stone on February 17th, 2008

Hands of God and Adam
Religion comes from the need of human beings to explain thier own exsistance. Also Man needs religion to cope with the knowledge of his own mortality.
